Wissota Late Model Challenge Series

3 Night of WISSOTA Late Model Racing

Sauk Rapids, MN (May 17, 2018) – The Wollak Construction WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series presented by QA1 is gearing up for 3 nights of racing over Memorial Day weekend.

All the action kicks off in Fergus Falls, MN at I-94 Speedway with a $3,000 to win event. The 2017 winner of the race at I-94 Speedway, Steve Laursen, is coming off an 11th place finish in the T18 car at the season opener at Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, MN. “I’m looking forward to heading to I-94 Speedway. It is a great facility with great people,” stated Steve Laursen, driver of the T18. “The competition is always tight in the series, and it is so important to get a good draw for passing points,” continued Laursen.

“The opening night at The Big “O” in Ogilvie, MN was a great success,” stated Carson Gramm, WISSOTA Auto Racing Associate Executive Director. “It was great to have such a well-attended event and great facility to kick off the season, but we are looking forward to three nights of racing over the holiday weekend.”

After the action finishes at the 3/8th mile oval in Fergus Falls, the drivers and crews will prepare for 2 nights of racing at Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. The speedway sits on the Douglas County Fairgrounds and is a fast ½ mile clay oval. In 2017, the event drew 37 cars for the one-day show, and the Don Shaw, driver of the blue and silver 42S car out of Ham Lake, MN, picked up his first WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series win of 2017.
