At the 2017 AFCO Race of Champions, 90 drivers took part in the races at the Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100, and the champions were as follows; Late Models, Zach Johnson, Kensington, MN, Modifieds, Andy Davey, Hibbing, MN, Super Stocks, Dave Mass, East Bethel, MN, Midwest Modifieds, Brock Gronwold, Fergus Falls, MN, Street Stocks, Tim Johnson, Brainerd, MN, Mod Fours, Mitchell Hribar, Zimmerman, MN.

The highest finishing driver, who has not already qualified for the AFCO Race of Champions, will receive the ability to race in the 2018 AFCO Race of Champions event at the WISSOTA 100 in their division. If a qualifying driver cannot attend the WISSOTA 100, the 2018 track champion of a qualifying member track may start the race in place of the other qualifier. There are also a number of provisional spots that may be filled at any time if the division as fewer than 19 cars. These include past winners, past champions, tour champions (if applicable), etc.

"The AFCO Race of Champions events are unique events each season for the tracks, drivers, and fans at WISSOTA member tracks,” said Carson Gramm, WISSOTA Associate Executive Director. “The races at the WISSOTA 100 are interesting to watch play out because of the points strategies that you see.
