First WISSOTA Championship Title in Idaho Ends in Tie
The Salmon Valley Speedway in Salmon, Idaho sanctioned WISSOTA Super Stocks during the 2022 season for the very first time and at season’s end after a long, hard-fought battle, Chris Fuller and Dave Clawson tied last year for both the state and track championship for their efforts.
Both drivers ended the season with 430 points after the season wrapped up, with each driver winning a pair of feature races along the way to share the title.
Clawson from Deer Lodge, Montana made the 145-mile trek to Salmon Valley weekly and Fuller, who lives in Hamilton, MT made the 93-mile drive himself to compete at the Idaho oval.
Salmon Valley Speedway has a dozen events on their 2023 calendar and sanctions WISSOTA Super Stocks and Street Stocks this season along with IMCA Modifieds, Renegade Sprint Cars, Mini Stocks, Renegade Stocks, Motorcycles, ATVs, Quads, Mowers and Outlaw Karts.
