AFCO WISSOTA MPH Invitational Information for Drivers and Fans

We are quickly gearing up for the Inaugural AFCO WISSOTA MPH Invitational featuring WISSOTA Mod 4’s, Pure Stocks, and Hornets on September 10th. Before we can put cars on the surface of Bemidji Speedway, we need to share some more information about this event with our drivers and fans.

First of all, the payout and schedule for this event is available for viewing and printing on our website at www.wissota.org/wissota100-mphinvitational. Saturday, September 9th will be practice for these classes with Pre-Tech starting at 3pm and cars on the track from 5pm-8pm. Following practice on Saturday there will be a DJ near the Chicken Shack to get the night started!

Sunday, September 10th is race day! The pits and draw will open at noon, drivers meeting at 4:15, and Mod 4 qualifying starting at 4:30. The Mod 4 class will be using a group qualifying method, the same as the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series. Qualifying details for the Mod 4s are available on our website. Pure Stocks and Hornets will be racing heats by draw and the feature by passing points. Immediately following Mod 4 qualifying will be the opening ceremonies featuring every driver on the track for the national anthem.

WISSOTA will be handling all aspects of the event including marketing, track prep, staffing, race directing, flagging, announcing etc. These people are all seasoned WISSOTA Board, WISSOTA Staff, Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100 and/or Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series officials.

Minnesota Truck Headquarters has stepped up and sponsored the MTH Cash for Cars Challenge. At the driver's meeting on Sunday, 10 drivers from the class with the highest car count will be randomly drawn for a $100 prize. In addition, $100 will be awarded to the fastest qualifying Mod 4 thanks to Wes' Plumbing, and other contingency prizes will be awarded throughout the night.

On top of the thrill of winning the first-ever AFCO WISSOTA MPH Invitational, each winner will receive one FREE campsite, two FREE Event Pit Passes, display their event-winning car alongside the grandstands, and lead the famous Parade of Champions at the 37th Annual Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota September 13th-16th.

If you are interested in camping on the Bemidji Speedway grounds on Saturday night, it will be a $20 camping fee. An AFCO WISSOTA MPH Invitational staff member will collect your fee and you will receive indication of purchase to put on your camper. If you are pulling your race car with something you are camping in, there is no fee.

This is a brand new event for us and Bemidji Speedway, and we are anxiously awaiting its arrival. We are working around the clock to make the standard of this event nothing short of excellent. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any WISSOTA Board or Staff member whose contact information can be found on the WISSOTA website.
