Willy's Carburetor and Dyno Partnership Announcement!

WISSOTA is excited to announce our latest partnership with Willy's Carburetor and Dyno!

Willy’s Carburetor & Dyno opened its doors in 1985 as an automotive diagnostic shop for consumer owned street cars and trucks as well as area automotive dealerships.

In 1988, Willy purchased and installed his first engine dyno and later that year, his first chassis dyno. It was then found that these tools were very beneficial to the motorsports industry. The very first race car to roll across the chassis dyno, a dirt street stock, went on to win several consecutive features right off the dyno. This brought more attention to the shop in Mount Carmel, IL and saw an increase of “race traffic” on the dyno.

Turning his attention strictly to the motorsports industry, Willy began building carburetors using Holley main bodies and parts straight off their assembly line. In 1994, Willy’s first US Patent was obtained for our billet aluminum metering blocks. These blocks feature an externally adjustable valve on each side to allow the racer an easy jet adjustment. This revolutionary product quickly became “the talk” of the industry when Willy’s made their first appearance at the annual Performance Racing Industry show as well as several other motorsports shows.

In 1996 the phones at Willy’s started getting busy as NASCAR teams started inquiring about carburetors. After speaking with numerous teams during the off season and making several trips to North Carolina for testing’s and meetings, SABCO Racing found themselves with Willy’s Carburetors. Several qualifying records and wins were recorded with Joe Nemecheck behind the wheel during this venture. The team at Willy’s also had a number of the then “Busch Series” teams knocking on the door wanting carburetors. PPC Racing recorded the 2000 Championship with Jeff Green behind the wheel while depending on our carburetors. In 2000, (14) of the top (20) in the “Busch Series” points utilized our carburetors. Willy then made the move to Joe Gibbs Racing where numerous wins were recorded as well as the 2002 & 2005 NASCAR Cup Series championship with Tony Stewart as the driver. Willy also built carburetors for Penske Racing during his stint in the Cup Series. This is where his “fuel mileage” game was perfected. Still to this date, many of the leading Nationwide and Truck series teams are fielded by a Willy’s Carb.

We strive to provide our customers with high quality products that perform week in and week out. Many of our products are parts made in house on one of our (3) state of the art CNC machines. We also track test our new products on one of our house cars before they are released to the public. This helps fine tune items and make sure there are no issues before production.

Each of our carburetors are built by hand, from start to finish and EVERY carburetors that comes into our shop, new or rebuilt goes across our dyno and tuned before it ships to our customer. This means when your carburetor arrives to you, you can bolt it on and go to the track.

Today, our shop is equipped with (2) chassis dynos. Our Chassis dynos see visitors from all over the United States and Canada each season!

We are proud to have so many great customers that choose to race with our products. From the local short tracks, truck pulls, boat racing, off road trucks, road racing or super speedways and everything in between, Willy’s Carburetor & Dyno is honored to have been a part of thousands of wins and championships over the past several years and look forward to many more.
