WISSOTA Racer Kennedy Swan Earns Hoosier Hero Honors For 2025

During the third year of the program, Hoosier Racing Tire has named Kennedy Swan a Hoosier Hero for the upcoming 2025 racing season.

Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin’s Kennedy Swan, age 17, started her racing career in Go Karts back in 2013, competed in Karts from 2013 through 2019 before moving into the WISSOTA Midwest Modified class, where she raced for three seasons before moving into the Modified class, where she competes currently.

Throughout her Go Kart career, she raced to fifteen victories, including the Wisconsin Kart Nationals Championship, across her seven seasons in the division, before moving up into the Midwest Modified division, where she turned a lot of heads, winning fourteen times at six different tracks, while becoming the first female to win the Punky Manor Challenge of Champions and the Midwest Modified Track Championship at the Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin to conclude a very impressive 2021 racing season.

After moving into full blown Modified division in 2023, she has transitioned into the division quite well, winning her first Modified feature in 2023 and she was the only female, and only WISSOTA competitor to make the starting field during the 2024 $100,000 to win Big Deal 100 amongst the 145 entrants.

Kennedy’s family includes her dad Jason, mom Autum, sister Emerson and brother Tripp. She’s got a very dedicated crew, which includes her mom, dad, brother and sister, as well as William, Landon, Aaron, Lauren, Chaston, Roz, Montana, Doug and Sharron.

Kennedy’s 2025 plans are to continue to compete in the WISSOTA Modified division for her third season, while trying to race to a top ten finish in the final WISSOTA Modified national point standings at season’s end. The team also plans to travel some and compete in as many bigger events as her team can to continue to gain experience and showcase her team’s sponsors.

When asked what it means to be named as a Hoosier Hero, Kennedy said ‘it’s a big opportunity to get my name and my sponsors names out there more. To be able to represent Hoosier is a huge opportunity that I’m so grateful for. At the recent PRI show, I got to talk about being a Hoosier Hero and do other interviews with different companies as well. It’s also another way for me to represent WISSOTA, women in this male dominated sport, and inspire others even more. During the 2025 season there will be videos, clips, interviews, etc being released of the 2025 Hoosier Hero class too.’

Kennedy’s team sponsors are:
Elwood Xpress, Southworth Chevrolet, Alger Electric, KP Katering, Cornell Lake Resort and Campground, Caffee Law Office, Tainter Adult Family Home, Brad's Affordable Auto Repair, Polish Enterprise LLC, The Crow's Nest, SSR Race Cars & Parts, Powder Plus, Ogre Express, Shooter Guy Photography, Hooker Design & Photography, Drifter Trucking LLC, Shilka Flooring, Airtec Sports, Clearview Glass Inc., HT Automotive LLC, Interstate Batteries, Nyhus Enterprises, Superior Choice Credit Union, Montney's Willow Ridge, Greenwood Concrete and Excavation, Tim’s Automotive Machine Racing Engines and Collins Bros. Towing of St. Cloud.

She went on to say, “I’m so grateful to be included in the Hoosier Hero program. There were 2,000 entries from all types of motorsports that were voted on among the people. After the program reached the final 24 racers, Hoosier took it upon themselves to decide the final 12 by reading what the people had to say about the racers. I was lucky enough to be in the final 12!’

One of the unique things about the final 12 is all the different racing motorsports involved. Drivers from Sprint Cars, Drag Racing, Dirt Racing, Asphalt Racing, and Four-Wheeler racing.

Kennedy’s final thoughts regarding the program were ‘to have my name in with some of these people like Brandon Sheppard from last year, Kenny Wallace, and Scott Bloomquist is so incredible. It was a great experience to meet all these racing people across America. I’m forever grateful for this amazing opportunity and I’m proud to represent Hoosier! I want to thank all my family, friends, and sponsors for helping me to become a Hoosier Hero. I want to also thank all the track promoters and announcers for always saying good things about me, it’s helped me to be where I am today.’

Hoosier Racing Tire is committed to fueling passion, pride and success in the racing industry. The Hoosier Hero program recognizes accomplished competitors from around the world that also fuel passion, pride and success in the racing industry both on and off the track.
