Schuler shares WISSOTA Street Stock National Co-Rookie of the Year
Montevideo, Minnesota’s Coltyn Schuler decided to make the move from the Pure Stock division, where he raced to 38 feature wins over the past three years, including 28 a year ago, into the WISSOTA Street Stock class for the 2025 season. The move paid dividends as Coltyn was able to race to the WISSOTA Street Stock National Co-Rookie of the Year title, sharing honors with Trent Keller of Zimmerman, Minnesota, and besting a talented group of 42 other Street Stock rookies to win the award.
As mentioned, Schuler competed regularly in an unsanctioned Pure Stock division at the Fiesta City Speedway in Montevideo, MN; the KRA Speedway in Willmar, MN, and the Madison Speedway in Madison, MN, a trio of Southwestern Minnesota ovals that share a standard set of Pure Stock rules. Schuler ran just a handful of events in 2021 before running a 20-event season in 2022, where he was able to race to his first career feature win. The 2023 season saw him compete in 38 events and secure 9 wins, which ultimately led to his 28-win season.
After dominating 2024, the choice was easy for Coltyn to move up into the Street Stock class and see if he could use his Pure Stock knowledge to get up to speed quickly in the Street Stocks.
29-year-old Schuler entered 42 events throughout the 2025 season and was able to race to three feature wins during his rookie season, plus end up with a very consistent 41 top ten finishes, along with 19 top five finishes amongst the 42 feature races he entered throughout the season.
When asked about his excellent rookie season, Coltyn mentioned, ‘We weren’t able to start the season until three weeks after everyone else, so to be able to still get 49 shows, along with three wins and the Rookie of the Year title, is pretty awesome.’

Coltyn’s #16a Street Stock is sponsored by Cody, Ranita Bothum and boys, Appleton Area Health, Whiskey Pete’s, Zach Moe, Schuler Trucking, Steve Laure, Archer Lubricants, Leupke’s Landworx LLC, Zeuli’s Race Engines & Machine Shop, Southwest Collision and Glass, Steve Birkey, Friendship Homes, Schuler Cattle Co., and Factory 43 Motorsports.
He is also supported by his parents Randy and Lori Schuler, his girlfriend Lexi Wollschlagrer, his kid Ayson and his brothers Chayse and Ty as well as his crew, which consists of Chayse, Ty, Lexi, Nolan and Zach.
Several moments that stand out for Coltyn during the 2025 season are getting his first career WISSOTA Street Stock feature win at the Redwood Speedway in Redwood Falls, MN in August, then getting win #2 the following Saturday night at the North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN and then racing his third career feature win the following Sunday night a true photo finish at Redwood, beating Joe Martin by just 0.006 seconds to get the victory. He also said hanging out with and making memories with his friends and family at the WISSOTA 100 was a weekend that stood out to him as well.
Coltyn competed at nine different tracks including the Redwood Speedway in Redwood Falls, MN; the Fiesta City Speedway in Montevideo, MN; the Madison Speedway in Madison, MN; the KRA Speedway in Willmar, MN; the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN; the Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD; the Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN; North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN and I-94 for the Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100 during the 2025 campaign.
Coltyn plans on taking what he learned during his rookie season in 2025 as he continues to compete in the WISSOTA Street Stock division searching for more victories along the way.
Congrats to Coltyn and his team!

The WISSOTA Promoters Association exists to benefit its member tracks to enhance safe, profitable and successful dirt track racing, through unified, cost-effective rules, policies and procedures enacted within a democratic environment.
The WISSOTA Promoters Association was founded in 1981 by eight track promoters in Wisconsin and Minnesota, with an intent to offer uniform rules for the promoters and drivers involved in the Late Model division. Soon, the group decided to do the same for the growing Modified division.
In 1984 a voluntary steering committee was formed to oversee the business aspects that developed and to guide the future of WISSOTA’s racing divisions. That steering committee evolved into a board of directors, and the non-profit racing organization became incorporated in 1986.
