Anderson achieves WISSOTA Midwest Modified Rookie of the Year honors

Jamestown, North Dakota’s Kyle Anderson made the jump from the WISSOTA Street Stock division into the WISSOTA Midwest Modified division at the start of the 2025 season. The move paid dividends as Kyle was able to race to the WISSOTA Midwest Modified National Rookie of the Year title, besting the talented group of 95 other Midwest Modified rookies for the award. Kyle topped Canadian driver Stan Dueck by 241 points for the rookie title.

Anderson began his racing career in go-karts, where he spent the first seven years of his career before transitioning to the Pure Stocks. After a three-year Pure Stock stint, he hopped into the WISSOTA Street Stock division, where he saw much success over the ten seasons he raced in that division, before leaping to the Midwest Modified class this past season.
28-year-old Anderson entered 46 events throughout the 2025 season and was able to race to 5 feature wins along the way during his rookie run. Along with five wins, Kyle ended up with a very consistent 41 top-ten finishes and 30 top-five finishes among the 46 feature races he entered throughout the season.

When asked about his excellent rookie season, Anderson mentioned, ‘This was our goal from the beginning of the year, and it’s pretty neat to be able to achieve it, because you only get one shot at it.’ He also wanted to thank all his sponsors, the track, and the fans for coming out all summer long and supporting all the drivers.

Kyle’s #59 Midwest Modified is sponsored by Quality Truck and Ag Repair, Mike Rodin and Sons Trucking, Qual Chiropractic, Lux Concrete, Spitzer Construction, Neva Farms, Extreme Auto, Kotaco Fuels, West End, Dakota Engine Builders, Thomas Farms, Energize Electric, Tuffs Storage Units, Total Clean, Innovative Siding and Windows, Team Redline Graphix, Team 21x, Gordan’s Interstate Towing and City Side Collision.

He is also supported by his mom and dad, as well as his crew, which consists of his dad, Jonny and Travis.

Getting his first career Midwest Modified victory, which happened at the 6th annual Don Gumke Memorial in June, at his hometown track in Jamestown, was the highlight of his season for sure. Not only was it his first career Midwest Modified victory, but he also started 9th in the feature and worked his way through the field to the win. It was a big night in memory of the legendary Don Gumke as well. Racing to four more wins during the season, winning the track championships at Jamestown and at Sheyenne, and earning enough points along the way to win the national rookie of the year title were amazing ways to cap off his rookie Midwest Modified run.
Showing his versatility throughout the season, Kyle competed at eight different tracks including Brown County, Buffalo River, Jamestown, Sheyenne, Tri County, Casino, Miller, and I-94 for the Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100 and was able to win races at three different tracks during the 2025 campaign, including victories at Jamestown, Tri-County and Sheyenne Speedway’s in his home state of North Dakota.

Congrats to Kyle and his team!

The WISSOTA Promoters Association exists to benefit its member tracks to enhance safe, profitable and successful dirt track racing, through unified, cost-effective rules, policies and procedures enacted within a democratic environment.

The WISSOTA Promoters Association was founded in 1981 by eight track promoters in Wisconsin and Minnesota, with an intent to offer uniform rules for the promoters and drivers involved in the Late Model division. Soon, the group decided to do the same for the growing Modified division.

In 1984 a voluntary steering committee was formed to oversee the business aspects that developed and to guide the future of WISSOTA’s racing divisions. That steering committee evolved into a board of directors, and the non-profit racing organization became incorporated in 1986.
